Este blog representa un intento de analizar, cuestionar e incluso reírse de noticias, opiniones, actuaciones y comportamientos en el mundo de los deportes, particularmente los de gran transcendencia o importancia internacional, utilizando fuentes de distintos medios que se publican o transmiten tanto en inglés como en castellano. Por supuesto las perspectivas expresadas aquí son altamente personales y, en ocasiones, únicas o muy distintas a las que se encuentran en los medios populares, pero se pretende que dichas opiniones formen parte de un debate más generalizado y que nos ayuden a prescribir nuevas maneras de contemplar y ver el deporte, sus enfrentamientos competitivos y sus personajes.
También se espera crear una filosofía que anime al “fan” a que disfrute plenamente y de forma sana del deporte, sin caer en hábitos y mentalidades peligrosamente obsesivos y sin que los gilipolleces de sus clubes o jugadores favoritos le afecten negativamente en la vida real.
English: This blog is an attempt to bring international and bilingual (Spanish and English) sources and multicultural thinking to sports analysis. By doing so, I hope to encourage new methods to view and understand our favourite sports, teams, and players and to foster points of debate about which the casual sports fan might be otherwise unaware.
For the hard-core or rabid fans, hopefully this blog can be a therapeutic process by which you enhance the excitement associated with your personal passion for sport, but learn to overcome the pitfalls and hardships of spending too much energy and creating too many expectations for your favourite teams. This way, you won’t let the baffling and asinine decision-making of your preferred teams and their numskull players and managers affect your everyday life.
